I am here in sunny Crete and I am attending an International Women’s Conference. I am thrilled to tell you that Phoebe has been recognised for her work by the E.S.A. (European Sustainability Academy). They hold a Women’s conference every year and I put Phoebe forward a recognition award for her amazing contribution to the children and people in Kisumu Kenya. Her faith, vision and hard work changes and builds communities.
Tonight she will be recognised by other women from all parts of the world. There are women from UK, Greece, Cyprus, Africa, Croatia and other countries.
It is just a small beginning to have Phoebe congratulated from outside of Kenya. I have been asked to receive the award and pass it on to Phoebe. What a great honour,I will make sure there are Photos.
A visit to Kenya to meet Phoebe
Thanks to the generosity of so many people we have been able to send the money for two houses to Phoebe to build homes for the elderly Widows of Kisumu. We launched this project on the 1st August 2015 and already we have felt the warmth and giving nature of our friends and families. Thank you so much to all who gave you know who you are. The joy and dignity you bring to these elderly women is immeasurable.
Phoebe has contacted us to say the first house will be started next Saturday the 19th September, this is so exciting. Phoebe will send pictures so we can all see the progress and then of course we will watch as the first Widow moves in.
We still need money for the furniture but I just know that it’s out there somewhere and that we will achieve all we set out to do.
If you would like to help or know someone or an organisation that would like to donate please go to https://my.give.net/GrandmasHouse thank you so much please keep giving .
Stella sends love and thanks to all who gave so she can live safely and with dignity
Life will be easier for Stella when she has her new home
and look for Phoebe’s Family. The Tony Rozee Foundation have allowed us to use their site and they kindly transfer all the money on behalf of Phoebe’s Family UK we thank them sincerely.
