Hello my name is Sandra Lewis and I am a volunteer working for Phoebe’s Family in the UK. I became involved with this wonderful charity 3 years ago through my work as a Rotarian and it has become one of my passions.

By launching this website I hope to be able to introduce  Phoebe’s Family to a much wider audience  and show the wonderful work Phoebe Onyango is  doing in Kenya. I would like as many people as possible to see the need for support and help me raise funds to keep Phoebe’s work going.

In February of 2013 I visited this charity in Kisumu, Kenya. I was impressed by Phoebe ‘s commitments and energy and her achievements to date.  The children are delightful and their stories compelling. I know that it is an enormous task to  fulfill all the needs and wants on the African Continent, but I do know that Phoebe’s Family is a genuine charity that helps orphans and the slum children of Kisumu. These children are fed and educated, their  emotional and spiritual needs are met and they are given values that will change their lives and thus influence their communities.

I live in Hampshire with my husband John. Between us we have 4 amazing children and 7 beautiful Grandchildren.

I have been a Rotarian for 10 years and through Rotary I have had many opportunities to give back both to my local community and to the many  global projects Rotary is involved in.

My guiding premise is that all children should be born into a world where they are safe, valued and loved. All children must  have access to food , clean water and an  education.
